Marking the centenary of the First World War Armistice, Magpie Dance’s flagship performance and first-look opportunity to view the exhibition exploring the “Hidden Impact” of people with learning disabilities, their journeys and contributions to the First World War.

Delivered in partnership with Ruskin College and self-advocacy group My Life, My Choice, this event also features an exclusive presentation from the researchers and opportunity to take part in a Q&A session. Spaces for this are free, but limited, so must be booked with your performance tickets. This special opportunity takes place 15:30 - 16:15, before the dance performance.

Magpie Dance’s company dancers, all of whom have learning disabilities, are set to perform a stunning ritual interpreting the stories of people with learning disabilities, their journeys and contributions to the First World War. From those displaced when asylums were requisitioned as war hospitals, to the journeys some made to the front line, it's a stirring performance that will have your emotions running high.

"Hidden Impact” will be featured in the January edition of ‘Community Living’ magazine. Its legacy will be housed both online and by Bromley Museum Collection at Central Library from summer 2019 onward. This performance and exhibition is your chance to see it first in full.

With thanks to Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council England.
