Job Description


  • To provide 1st level support on the IT Service Desk across the company
  • To work a shift pattern that will ensure the Service Desk is fully resourced as agreed
  • To answer the Service Desk phone, promptly and courteously, and as per the agreed procedures
  • To run through all first line checks as per the procedures and resolve as many issues as possible while on the initial call
  • To log all calls in the Service desk tool, with full details of the problem
  • To pass on any calls that cannot be resolved to the 2nd line teams promptly
  • To ensure all tickets are closed once resolved and that the solution is documented
  • To maintain communication with impacted users, with updates as required
  • To complete analysis on closed tickets to identify trends and potential training or technical improvements to minimise future tickets
  • To write up training guides and FAQs to feed into the IT knowledge base
  • To follow all Service Desk and IT team procedures and be a role model
  • To complete and/or contribute to regular Service Desk metric reporting
  • To contribute to all IT Team meetings and cross-team activities as requested
  • To take on any other duties as may be required, commensurate with the post and in particular to ensure the continued delivery of high quality effective services for the company
