About Us

The remains of ten rooms of the Crofton Roman Villa House, which was occupied from about AD140 - AD400, can be seen today. Two rooms contain Roman concrete (opus signinum) whilst details of Roman central heating (hypocaust) can also be viewed. The villa offers guided talks, a touch table with a selection of Roman finds, activities for children including holiday sessions, a small gift shop and special activity workshops for schools. We are open April – October: Wednesdays, Fridays & Bank Holiday Mondays 10am – 5pm (last entry 4.30pm) & the first Sunday in every month 2pm – 5pm (last entry 4.30pm).
